Hidden Gems Of Sacramento - Photoshoot Ideas for Senior Sessions Pt 2

I know you’ve been waiting for this part 2! This blog focuses on the greater region of Sacramento County. We will show you some of my favorite places around Roseville, Folsom, and Davis. As always, it’s important to check ahead of time for any needed permits or payments in order to photograph in these locations.
Let’s start with heading about 25 minutes on I-80 East to Roseville. Roseville, California, is a picturesque city with a variety of hidden gems that make for stunning photoshoot locations. Whether you're a photographer looking for unique backdrops or someone seeking a beautiful place for a photo session, there are gorgeous hidden gems in Roseville for photoshoots. Head to Downtown Roseville and walk around Vernon Street Town Square. This vibrant square often hosts community events and features public art installations. It's a great location for capturing the essence of Roseville's community spirit. You have the historic Tower Theatre, dreamy bookstores, and interesting alleyways to capture the look you and your client are envisioning.

If you head 25 minutes West from Sacramento on I-80 you will reach Davis, CA. It's a charming city with a unique blend of natural beauty, historic architecture, and vibrant culture. Davis is home to the internationally recognized UC Davis, this university has a plethora of natural and architectural locations.
The UC Davis Arboretum is a hidden gem for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike. This 100-acre living museum features gardens, water features, and walking paths. The diverse plant life and picturesque bridges make for stunning backdrops in every season.
Another exciting place to go for a more editorial setting is the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art.

If you head 25 minutes EAST on HWY 50 you will find yourself in Folsom, CA. Taking the Folsom BLVD exit will lead you to the Historic Folsom District filled with beautiful brick and natural beauty. It's a perfect place for both urban and vintage-style photoshoots. There are old train cars and a historic “settlement” with metalworks and livestock on the weekends.
If you have a gamer in your client list or someone who is loving the 80s vibes of Stranger Things I strongly suggest booking a time to go to FunZone Arcade. It’s right off Highway 50 at Folsom BLVD.

Here’s a bonus location that’s perfect for your Fall photoshoots! If you travel North about an hour from Sacramento you will reach Bishop's Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland, California. It’s more than just a place to pick pumpkins; it's a picturesque wonderland that comes alive with the colors and spirit of autumn. Whether you're a professional photographer seeking the perfect backdrop or a family looking to capture cherished moments, Bishop's offers a multitude of photo opportunities. Visit this enchanting farm, and let your camera capture the magic of fall in all its glory.
