Jordan O's Amazing Session

During Jordan's fashion consult, she chose an array of looks that made for the ultimate teen portrait session. Jordan’s sense of style is definitely amazing! I absolutely love the outfits we were able to put together for her.She went from a gorgeous flowy printed dress to a beautiful eye-catching BoHo look. Ultimately, for her last look she chose a super fun edgy black and white number. And just wait till you see how we had fun with color pops in her makeup and accessories.

Jordan is a talented dancer with the most beautiful smile, long hair, and amazing angles! With the looks she chose, I knew we would need a spot that would allow for both urban and natural settings. This meant, we headed to the Capital right here in Sacramento, CA.

The weather was pretty perfect that September morning here in Sacramento. Each outdoor location was within walking distance. Finding the perfect locations for your clients is so important and it's something I take great pride in. These spots made for such a fun and dynamic shoot.

Jordan is an incredible tap dancer! I myself, tap-danced for 17 years so she showed me a short little routine that reminded me how “rusty” I’ve become! However, Jordan is nationally recognized and was chosen to tap dance for Team USA so she’s top-notch when it comes to tap-dancing!

THE FIRST LOOK

The muted blush and gray tones in Jordan’s first outfit made me think of this gorgeous location with the curved cement walls and ivy. It’s got a sort of romantic feel to this spot which matched the mood perfectly. Right next to that location is an amazing building with arched ceilings and large reflective windows this was perfect for an urban look. For instance, Jordan opted for the “on-location” hair and makeup package, which meant she had a team with her for the entire photo shoot.

THE SECOND LOOK

For the next outfit, the HMUA team took her makeup a little more BoHo. Her long gorgeous locks were made into a beautiful side braid along her crown complete with a ponytail. What better to complement this look than cacti, tropical banana leaves, and other fun greenery? I absolutely love shooting in these locations and Jordan totally embraced this BoHo vibe to the fullest extent.

STYLING TIP TIME!

Taking a fun BoHo dress to an edgier your look is simple if you just pair it with a fitted jacket. This white leather jacket with the studs along with those amazing studded coach boots was the perfect way to transition her BoHo look from flowy to edgy. Above all, I love being able to create a thorough storyline from the first look through the last.

THE THIRD LOOK

After her second look, we headed back to the studio, for the hair and makeup change and to cool off from the California heat. I absolutely love what the hair and makeup team did to transition Jordan into this editorial studio look. The pop of lavender color was absolutely perfect for Jordan's beautiful olive skin tone and that set me in the direction to find some lavender accessories from my accessory room. Jordan let us know that purple is one of her favorite colors so of course, this was the perfect combo for her. The beauty of a black and white or any kind of neutral outfit is that you can always add a pop of color, and I am always wanting to add a pop of color!

Jordan's sweet personality shined through during the shoot and she was an absolute joy to shoot with I cannot wait to work with her again. XoXo, Lacey
