Stevie's Vintage Aesthetic Sacramento Senior Photoshoot

Class of 2024 Senior, Stevie is an incredibly kind, beautiful girl with an amazing sense of style. When she chose her outfits during her Fashion Consult, I knew we were in for an epic day during her Senior Session! The outfits she chose for her Senior photos really embraced a vintage aesthetic, which I was excited to photograph. A few weeks later, her official Senior portrait day was here and Stevie was in the studio getting her hair and makeup done by the incredible Mai Artistry a frequent collaborator with us!
Stevie started the session with a really fun mod style retro look. I always recommend a fun out of the box outfit that will stand the test of time and this was it! When she spotted this vintage dress in the LMC Style Closet, she was SMITTEN! We grabbed some really great images while she was in this outfit – just look at the morning light coming in! I knew the perfect location would be a rooftop area in downtown Sacramento that has stark white walls to allow Stevie to POP against them. We also headed downstairs to this gorgeous California Poppy mural! Downtown and midtown Sacramento is chock full of beautiful murals which make this city such a great backdrop for Senior Portraits.
She then changed into her next outfit which was full Barbie aesthetic! I have a feeling that for the Class of 2024 Seniors we will be seeing lots of Barbie-core looks, which I’m absolutely STOKED about. We stopped for a little hydration and snack at Temple Coffee in Midtown Sacramento. Not only do they have great coffee and tea, they have the cutest outdoor areas that are perfect for a photoshoot. I absolutely love the corduroy pink suit Stevie chose and she is such a natural in front of the camera! Since this photoshoot took place in the Summer, it was time to get out of downtown Sacramento and back to my studio (AND THE A/C) to beat the heat! We finished up the pink suit aka Barbie vibes look indoors in my corner set.
The next outfit was almost all Stevie. Her mom Sandra had gotten Stevie a beautiful vintage pearl necklace and that inspired the third look. She also brought a gorgeous black dress she wore to her sisters wedding to the Fashion Consult that truly fit her perfectly. I love when clients bring personal items from home that may have special significance. It will only enhance the senior portrait experience. I paired it with a fun vintage style hat and some accessories. This look inspired me to play with some fun lighting techniques I don’t get to use as often as I’d like and "oh my goodness", I was so happy with the results.
Since Stevie is one of my Class of 2024 Team Seniors, and we finished her 3 looks a bit early, I asked if she would like to model a really fun Jessa Kae dress as a bonus outfit. Stevie’s favorite color is brown/earth tones and she was SO excited to try it on. Mai transformed her hair into a beautiful boho side braid interlaced with ribbons I had in the studio.
All in all, this was one for the books. Stevie is on TEAM LMCP so I can’t wait to work with her more throughout the year. This was her third photoshoot with me and she’s already a PRO!
