SUMMER’S SHINING | POSH TWEEN SESSION
Tween Portrait Sacramento
Just after Labor Day I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely tween, Summer, around Downtown Sacramento. The end of Summer in Sacramento is notoriously scorching hot. it was only fitting that one of my last Teen portraits of summer were of Team LMCP member, Summer! This sweet girl joined the team and was very shy and very unsure if she was “good” enough to be here. She snapped out of her aniexty very quick once she met and bonded the other spokesmodels. It has been amazing to see her confidence and self love explode since she joined TeamLMCP! I highly encourage any teen and senior of 2024 join our next round of spokesmodels! More info will be coming at the New Year!!
Back to Summer:
After we got hair and makeup done, we headed for my favorite on-location park to take some dreamy pictures amongst the flowers. Summer really loved this outfit. She felt so elegant and had so much fun twirling in it. Sacramento has many parks and this one in particular has a great array of botanicals we used as backdrops.

Summer and her mom opted for our 3 hair and 3 makeup looks option, our amazing hair AND makeup artist Mai created three distinct and classy looks that suited Summer perfectly! My personal favorite was Summer’s second look: her disco buns and peach monochrome makeup look! Check out my favorites from the look below. She chose to wear these round daisy sunnies while we were in Downtown Sacramento and I just love how they look on her!
Some answers we asked Summer about her Posh Tween Session!
1. What made you choose Lacey M Carroll as your photographer for your Tween Couture Session? After seeing Lyla’s pictures how could you not? Stunning!
2. What did you envision your photoshoot would be like? I wasn’t sure what to expect as that was my first shoot. The entire day was one big surprise.
3. Which look turned out to be your favorite? The casual look was my favorite because it really captured who I am right now. (Ours too Summer!)
4. What was your favorite moment of the photoshoot? Having my hair and makeup done. (Mai is an expert!)
5. Was there anything you'd do differently if you got to do the photoshoot again? I probably would have chosen a different “casual shirt”. Although I loved the green and white shirt a lot of other girls also chose it.
6. Anything you'd like to be included about you and your experience? This was something I had never done before so I was a bit nervous. I ended up having a really great day! (You did so well! I have loved seeing you grow into your confidence! You are amazing, girl!)
7. What inspired you to join Team LMCP? Our family friend Lyla was on Lacey’s team and had the most amazing pictures!!
We braved the Sacramento heat long enough and headed back into my photo studio to finish off her 3 styled looks! If you didn’t know, any Teen Portrait and Senior Portrait, has a special Fashion Consult session with me in my LMC Style Closet!
Jennifer is the sweetest and most supportive mom. She was always there to lighten the mood and help with the shoot if I needed. :) Summer really loves her mama, I promise! Don’t let the second picture below fool you, these two are so close! It was so fun to see their silly sides. We were always giggling and talking about dogs. Summer’s dream job would be to be a dog mom…I could not agree more! She has a kind heart and big dreams. A perfect combo for young person to have.

We finished the day at my Sacramento based photo studio with this sophisticated Clueless inspired look. I could tell Summer felt confident in this outfit. the dress length blazer paired with this orange top and baby blue skirt turned Summer’s quiet self into a powerful and spunky teen! I love adding small accessories to our looks. Like the orange sunnies above and my all the favorite pink vintage bag below.
I’m so happy with how this entire Posh Teen Session turned out. Summer did an amazing job and I’m so happy that she has many more years to work with me and blossom into a confident young woman! Senior Portraits seem far away for her but they will get here before we know it. *sobs*
