What’s It Like Traveling with LMCP?
We were lucky enough to get into our AirBnb, The Green Parakeet house, a day early so that we could location scout spots around the city of Palm Springs and in Joshua Tree National Park. I had my office manager, Michelle and my close friend/hairstylist/HMUA for most of my photoshoots, Heather join on this destination photoshoot so that we could have a fun photoshoot at the end with all of us. I wanted to show you all that when you a part of a photoshoot there is so much that goes into the planning AND execution of the shoot. We spent our first day location scouting and organizing the Airbnb for the model team and their parents. We had timelines and shot lists, accessories, and travel time estimations ready to go so that on the days of the shoots we were as prepared as possible. With that , I would love to do a round up of all the wonderful places we stopped in along the way:
Cafe La Jefa - a funky and delicious coffeeshop!
bobo Designs - a curated selection of artisan stationery goods from women-of-color-owned brands, queer-owned brands, our favorite writing tools, and rare goods from Japan!
The Pink Cabana - the Pink Cabana at Sands Hotel & Spa is a fresh, modern take on the great Tennis and Racquet Clubs of the 50’s and 60’s in Palm Springs
Sherman’s Bakery & Deli - A Palm Springs institution. NY style Deli family owned and operated by two generations. INCREDIBLE FOOD AND DESSERTS!!!
4 Paws Coffe Co. - Family owned coffee shop that donates a portion of every sale to local animal shelters. (Good coffee and a great cause!)
Gelato Granucci - Artisan gelato made onsite. Need we say more.
Inka Peruvian Cuisine - Traditional flavors and nuances of Peru in the heart of Palm Springs nightlife.
Farm - Lacey’s MUST GO place! The experience at Farm is like being transported to the South of France.
We also thrifted a few pieces from Angel View Resale AND their Jackie Lee’s Boutique next door. A must stop if you are thifting in the area!
We just HAD to include a few group shots from the weekend. Here you can see us all celebrating after our sunset outdoor editorial photoshoot in the heart of Joshua Tree National Park. We had a boho meets coastal cowgirl festival style for our Joshua Tree location and a retro tropical vacation style for our lifestyle shots around Palm Springs on the second day. We just had to get a pic with Sabrey, one of our seniors of the class of 2024, because we all had our LMCP t-shirts on. Twinsies!
