I am so excited when my friends book photo shoots with me. It’s such an honor and so much fun to have someone you know in front of the camera. (It also really helps when you know the person behind the camera taking your picture!)

So when Dayna, a Project Manager with a law degree reached out to me for a Professional Headshot session I jumped at the chance! Just look at this cutie! I’m so happy with how these turned out and a huge part of that is how warm and energetic Dayna is as a person.

She decided it was time to pamper herself and do something that she had been slightly nervous to do. It started with her deciding to go for it and add on professional Hair and Makeup to her session. Any photo shoot I offer can have HMUA ( that’s short for Hair and Makeup) attached. You will pay the stylist ON THE DAY of your photoshoot, not me.

We had the always fantastic, Mai as our HMUA this day. She gave Dayna a natural, flirty, and fun look. Dayna felt very true to herself and loved how her hair and makeup turned out. :)

Dayna is a lawyer by trade, passing the bar and working in copy-write for years but shifted into a more fulfilling sector of change management as a program manager. Change management is an enabling framework for managing the people side of change.

I know Dayna through the Sacramento Comedy Spot where we both perform! She’s the producer of the very funny, Document This and sings improvised musical numbers on the upcoming show “Stand Up and Sing” on October 26th!

Scroll down to read Dayna’s thoughts on the day.

xoxo

1. What made you choose Lacey M Carroll as your photographer for your Professional Headshot Session?

I know Lacey through the Sacramento Comedy Spot and follow her photography on social media. Her photographs are so amazing and I am always so impressed with how gorgeous and cool they look. So when I was in need of headshots, I jumped at the chance to book a session with her.

2. What did you envision your photoshoot would be like?

I have never had professional photos taken as an adult, and was not even really sure what to expect. I just knew from Lacey and friends of mine who had already had photos taken that the experience was great and Lacey had a great studio with all sorts of stuff. Mostly I was just looking forward to having someone who was creative and knew what they were doing to help guide me.

3. Which look turned out to be your favorite?

How do I pick just one?! I needed headshots for work, comedy show promotions, and maybe something for some online dating profiles. ;) I love the flowers in my hair shots because that was an idea that Lacey had spur of the moment, and I love the flowers with the pink of the background and dress. I also love the pink background combo with my red shirt because I love pink and red so much.

4. What was your favorite moment of the photoshoot?

I definitely enjoyed getting flowers in my hair. I love flowers and it was such a fun, spontaneous idea. I just also love how confident and capable Lacey made me feel during the photoshoot. She gave great directions and lots of feedback that made me feel cute.

5. Was there anything you'd do differently if you got to do the photoshoot again?

I would have scheduled the photoshoot sooner! I have not been the most comfortable seeing myself in photos, so I was hesitant.

6. Anything you'd like to be included in the blog post about you and your experience?

The entire experience was a masterful mix of well-oiled professionalism and playful creativity. I cannot wait to use my photos everywhere!
