WHICH SEASON IS RIGHT FOR YOUR SENIOR SESSION?

Images of Client Photoshoots In: Summer, Spring, Winter and Fall

Choosing the best season for senior portraits is important as it can greatly impact the overall aesthetic of your photos. Each season has its own unique qualities. BUT, we are considered a leader in the Senior Photography field in on-location lighting, which allows us to manipulate light for ANY season! Let's check out some Senior Portraits taken in each season!

WINTER SENIOR SESSIONS

Winter: Unlike other parts of the country, the benefit of living in Sacramento is that our Winters aren't too cold! Winter in Sacramento can be a beautiful time for senior portraits. With the crisp air and occasional fog, there are many opportunities for some stunning shots. Layers are always a good choice, as they allow for flexibility and can add depth to the photos. With the sun rising later in the day, it shifts our morning sessions to a later time! If you're not an early riser, I recommend a Winter session! Jewel tones can really make a Winter session POP!

SPRING SENIOR SESSIONS

Spring: This season can be a great option for senior portraits as the flowers begin to bloom and the weather is mild. The natural light has a cooler quality that is so beautiful and flattering. Fun Pastels are always a good way to celebrate Spring.

SUMMER SENIOR SESSIONS

Summer: Summer can be a bit more challenging due to the heat and bright sunlight, but early morning sessions can produce the most stunning results. Also, the ease of scheduling when you're off school, can be a relief!

FALL SENIOR SESSIONS

Fall: Many Seniors in the Sacramento area, LOVE waiting for Fall for their Senior Sessions. This is because the autumn months typically offer beautiful natural backdrops with warm golden hues and vibrant colors. Additionally, the cooler temperatures make outdoor photo shoots more comfortable for seniors wanting to wear sweaters and jackets. Earth tones are always such a fun addition to a Fall Senior Portrait Session.

STUDIO SENIOR SESSIONS

Indoor: And just remember ALL YEAR-ROUND you can schedule an indoor session. Many of our senior portrait sessions start outdoors and end with an indoor photoshoot!

Ultimately, the best season for senior portraits depends on personal preference and the desired look for the photos. I do recommend booking 3-4 months in advance to make sure you are guaranteed a spot!
