1) How long is the drive VS flying?

The drive is 8-9 hours. Or you can fly into Salt Lake City airport, rent a car to drive around SLC and to our photoshoot location (about an hour away from the airport). I will be driving as I will have all my equipment, some dresses (if space), and luggage. I strongly suggest carpooling with other folks attending the photoshoot if possible!

2) Why are the time slots only 5 minutes?

The 5 minute slots just save your slot for the session time/date. Each client will be with me in a group for 3-4 hours and get ample time to get gorgeous images.

3) I'm not sure what to wear the day of?

Keep it simple! Bring Clothes you can easily change in and out of. BRING A WARM JACKET AND BLANKET! Bring nude undergarments AND dance shorts you will need for your dress/outfit.

SHOES: The salt is messy and can be painful when you walk on it barefoot. I recommend bringing THREE pairs of shoes, walking shoes (I recommend sneakers or sturdy flip flops), shoes you're going to shoot in AND WATER SHOES! You may be getting into the water. Afterward the shoes will be messed up so don't bring anything too fancy! Whether there’s water on the salt or it’s completely dry the salt turns into a chalky substance on the bottom of your shoes and anything that touches the ground. So always bring a spare pair of shoes and a couple trash bags to put the shoes into after visiting the Salt Flats. If there is a lot of water, we will likely shoot in bare feet or in water shoes.

Bring Towels and Trash bags for wet clothes!

4) What will the location be like?

PLAN FOR SUN! AND COLD! Bring lots of WATER!!!  The Salt Flats are in complete open sunlight! Be prepared for bright sun unless it’s an overcast day. I can only compare it to snow, the salt is white so sunscreen, sunglasses, and MORE SUNSCREEN!

5) Can I book Hair & Makeup?

You'll need to find and book your own Hair and Makeup person in SLC if you really want to. Otherwise plan on doing your own. It may be windy, so loose curls are a good idea!

6) Where can we get gowns and dresses to rent for this photoshoot?

Utah Gowns and Alice Andrew Designs

7) Do I have to wear a gown?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Gowns are not required. You can choose any outfit you’d like for your photoshoot! If you’d rather wear a fun and funky 70s fringe look like Hanna does below GO FOR IT! Would you rather wear a color blocked sleek suit? YES PLEASE! Your commitment to the photoshoot and support of the other models at the shoot are the only things required. (plus SPF and Water! lol)

8) Where will we be staying?

I will provide hotel recommendations once you book. You are responsible for coordinating your transportation and lodging for the trip. However I can assist as best I can. Again I suggest teaming up and carpooling if possible! Once our sessions are filled we will be sending more info about where to stay. Instructions for the day of will be sent sooner to the session dates.
