My friend and fellow Senior Portrait Photographer, Shawna Tomren reached out to me to book a quick Professional Headshot session. She was ready to update her brand a bit and wanted some headshots to go along with that. I’m always so excited when my colleagues in the photography field choose to work with me for their professional head shots or branding sessions because it says to me that they trust me and my skills to provide exceptional images for my clients to showcase. Shawna trusted me with her headshot session knowing that these images will attract clients for years to come and will highlight all that is unique and wonderful about Shawna are her business!

You can see from these images that Shauna is full of life, joy, and kindness! I love showcasing the amazing qualities my clients already possess!

We had the incredible team of Sara Garcia and Heather Grabin on Hair and Makeup! What started out as a single hair and make up look quickly upgraded to three hair and three make up looks! Listen, we get it. Once the style of the shoot starts to come together the urge to upgrade becomes stronger and stronger! lol Shauna went all in and opted to upgrade to a custom Branding Photoshoot the day of her appointment! We were all very happy to get more time to experiment with looks and poses.

Shawna brought these amazing styles from her closet in the Bay Area! I do have the option to upgrade your headshots to include a styling session with me from the LMC Style Closet but Shauna came ready to play! She started with a classic white blouse and blue jeans. You can see above top right how gorgeous and inviting she looks in that outfit! Our second look was my favorite. I can’t decide if its because of her bubble braids or the tropical silky blouse and green gingham bell bottoms combo! Either way you can see that once we turned on some tunes, Shawna let the grooves take over. We were able to get SO many fun candid images that really give you peak into Shawna’s personality.

An energetic and joyful woman is posing for some photos in front of a white backdrop. She's at a Sacramento photo studio for some professional headshots. Her green gingham bell-bottoms and tropical blouse pop with the white!

We did a little transitional look with the bubble braids, jeans, blouse and jacket combo and ultimate went for her final look with a smokey eye, loose bun, and white button up blouse! The black tie in the front adds some elegance to this classic day to night look!

We capped the look off with a stunned leather jacket that gave us all big Elvis vibes! What’s your go to music to put on during a photoshoot? I make sure to have a blue tooth speaker handy for any clients wanting some tunes on while we shoot. This is a great way to get into the mood of the photoshoot or even just to get some of the nerves out of your model! Giving folks the option to just jam out and enjoy music puts them at ease. the anxiety of being a “model” drifts away to reveal their true selves! Try it next time if you haven’t and let me know if you notice a difference at your photoshoot. This works for headshot sessions, teen portraits, senior portraits, and BFF sessions!

Photographer to photographer, I just have to say that Shawna is a wonderful person, business owner, and especially Bay Area Senior Photographer! If you’re in the Bay Area look her up!

Until next time,

xoxo
