Super Star Sisters | Portfolio Development Session
I’ll let you in on a little secret, I love when photoshoots turn into a family affair! You can imagine my excitement for the Portfolio Development Session I had with sisters, Angela (in pink blouse and grey pants) and Dalila (in the pink ombre dress) in the Fall of 2020. These incredibly talented sisters came all the way from the Bay Area to shoot with me in sunny Sacramento. I had worked with Dalila before and their mom, Jessica wanted to incorporate Angela into one of the sessions. I love whenever a parent comes to me with this request because there’s nothing I love more than to capture the beauty that is the relationship between siblings. For a small add on families can include another sibling into a photoshoot and I’m so glad that Jessica and the girls wanted to do this!
September is still notoriously hot in Sacramento so after our 6am call time at my photo studio for the girls hair and makeup we zoomed down to a local park to capture these girls nature loving sides. The fabulous hair and make up was done by Sara Garcia and Heather Grabin.
I keep the dress Dalila is wearing stored away and only bring it out for special Fall sessions because I know how popular it is! I mean, do. you see how beautiful this velvet and lace dress is? The autumn leaves and caramel velvet are so rich and lush. I’m obsessed with this dress and Dalila, who has an extensive dance background creates a beautiful story with this dress. I knew Angela deserved an equally as stunning look and we were not disappointed when I styled this orange top and jewel toned pleated skirt from my LMCP Style Closet.
These sisters have an incredible bond that I loved seeing. Angela was not used to being in front of the camera. She is more reserved and was a little nervous to begin but Dalila made sure Angela knew how supported she was! Angela quickly came out of her shell and blossomed in front of my camera! It was amazing to see! Angela is an accomplished musician. Her instrument of choice is the Violin which totally matches her personality. She is elegant and witty. Someone who loves being in nature and cares deeply for the environment. She’s a self identified horse girl who loves to ride and tend to horses.
Dalila, the baby, has grown up performing! She’s an accomplished dancer who has competed in the dance world for many years. She’s a bit of a ham, which we bonded over quickly! haha You may recognize Dalila if you’re familiar with dance wear companies because she’s a rep for Soel Dancewear and La Belle Rose!
By the time we made it back to my professional photo studio in Sacramento for our third looks and hairstyles both girls were rocking it in front of the camera! Angela KILLED it in her final look! Her profile above on the left hand side may be my favorite image of the entire Portfolio Development session! She absolutely rocked this royal blue pleather puffer jacket.
Pleather was the name of the game for these sisters final looks as you can see from Dalila’s mod inspired pink skirt! I absolutely loved waking with the entire family and cannot wait for them to step into my studio again soon! They’re booking a photoshoot with me again and I’m so grateful and elated!
Family is so important and It’s my honor to capture siblings in their truest forms, like these rockstar teen models you’ve seen and read about above. There’s always room in my schedule for sessions like these, just reach out and we can start the process together.
xoxo,
