TEAM JAZLYN | Teen Couture
I can say without a doubt I am Team Jazlyn. :) This freshman joined my Teen Team LMCP in 2021 and I have had the honor of mentoring this incredible girl ever since! She is so kind and thoughtful seeming to know when positive affirmations need to be shared. She has been such a great addition to the team! I have loved every photoshoot we have done from our first Teen Essential Session, to San Luis Obisbo, to our Team LMCP shoots! It’s never a dull day when Jazlyn is there, she’s like a ray of sunshine personified.
Most of the images from this blog post are from our first photoshoot we did together! This is Jazlyn’s face with no make up and can we all agree she is flawless. The addition of clear lipgloss and brow gel were all we needed for this session. Her mom, Rachel, did her hair and I love how it turned out. At this point Jazlyn had never had professional hair and make up and was hesitant to experience it since she has had such a solid routine with her mom.
We started off her Teen Couture Session by heading into Midtown Sacramento with her Tie-Dye Outfit, During the late spring through summer and let’s face it- through Fall I like to head to our location for photoshoots first so we can avoid as much of the sweltering heat as possible. This photoshoot day was definitely one of those days. :) Ahhh, the lovely life of a Sacramento Senior and teen portrait photographer.
This graffiti wall above has been a staple destination for my Sacramento photoshoots for years. Sadly, the building this street art was on was demolished late 2021 and is no more. Jazlyn was one of the last models I took there! I miss this place. If you’re a Sacramento photographer who loves to scout for cool and funky locations like this let me know if you find anymore great walls full of graffiti art in the Sacramento area!
Can we please take a moment to obsess over Jazlyn’s amazing taste in shoes! These neon green nikes are AMAZING!
We then moved to this funky shaded street around the corner for our second look that we called “the cloud outfit”. I loved the continuation of neon shoes we had going on. We paired her tie dyed denim jacket/skirt look with these neon blue combat boots from my LMCP Style Closet. These combat boots are VERY light, they are not a heavy boot as you might expect when you think of combat boots. )
By this time the scorching Sacramento sun suggested we head back to my photo studio and we happily obliged. I took some fun and dynamic snapshots of Jazlyn in her “cloud outfit” in front of my grey backdrop. The lighting along with her blue outfit gives the grey a blue hue. I loved how they turned out.
We finished up in my Sacramento photo studio with this Editorial look. A classic black and white ensemble that had so much attitude and glamour. Jazlyn was really loving the way she felt in this look. You can tell how much fun she was having working her angles and accessories here!
Jazlyn had the opportunity to come with me to the 2021 Snapshot Conference to model for photographers from all over the country. It’s a really great educational event for the senior photographers and models alike. I’ve been able to attend as an educator for several years now and love giving my models and senior photographers the opportunity to learn how to work with many different kinds of people.
These images of her on this rocky beach in San Luis Obisbo are almost too stunning for words. She looks magical and elegant, These Vogue level editorial images are some of my favorites of Jazlyn. Ever. :)
I love what I do so much because it connects me to good people like Jazlyn and her mom Rachel. I am so excited to work with Jazlyn for several years to come as a member of Team LMCP! We will have many opportunities to create photoshoots together and I cannot wait to see her modeling skills grow as she moves with grace through her high school years.
